New Year, New You - Put Your Wellness on Priority 1

January 02, 2018

Some say health check-ups (also known as routine physical examination, preventive health check or executive check-up) are expensive. What they fail to realize is that investing in an executive check-up package is a smart way to save on major surgeries and maintenance meds that might be required if a disease is left undiagnosed.

With the prevalence of a sedimentary lifestyle, diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, renal diseases and liver disorders have been on the rise, resulting to complications that are costly to contain and may even become fatal. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, chronic diseases such as those stated above are responsible for 7 of 10 deaths each year. However, with early detection and proper medicinal guidance, these diseases and health risks can be treated or controlled.

The CSMC Wellness Center offers various wellness assessment packages based on universally accepted standards for evaluating your health. You may choose a package that establishes a baseline measure of your overall health or one that will focus on a particular health issue you are most concerned about. Some of our Executive Check-Up (ECU) packages cover basic to comprehensive, pediatric and student wellness, as well as elderly ECU, or we can even customize a package to fit your health needs.

Our ECU is conducted on both in and outpatient basis. Various tests will be conducted to help determine your health and fitness level as well as identify any potential health risks. When the results are ready, a medical report on the assessment of your overall health status will be prepared for you. Our Wellness doctors will also be on hand to imitate counseling, lifestyle modification and other appropriate intervention which may reduce your health risks.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your annual check-up:

• Make a list of your health concerns.

• List all the medications you are taking.

• Get a copy of your medical records especially if you'll be seeing a new physician.

• Review your health plan coverage and see which tests are not covered.

• Schedule your appointment and let our Wellness Coordinators guide you all throughout your schedule.

The best time to get an Executive Check-Up is when you feel completely health. Make wellness an everyday part of your life and help save up from the cost of your future healthcare spending.
